Our Purpose
STARS Dorset offers professional, confidential support for anyone who has a Dorset postcode and has experienced any form of sexual violence.
We provide BACP-accredited, trauma-informed counselling using Judith Herman’s 3-stage model to help you stabilise, process, and move forward from the trauma of sexual violence and abuse.
Our ISVAs provide practical and emotional support to help you make the most informed decision, such as whether to report to the police, and can offer guidance throughout the criminal justice process.
BACP-accredited Children and Young People (CYP) counselling is available for young people aged 8-18 who have experienced sexual violence, alongside specialist CYP ISVA support for under-18s.
Our Engagement Team works across Dorset, including BCP, to raise awareness and combat harmful attitudes and behaviours around sexual violence through educational workshops and activities.
