Engagement Team
Our Engagement Team work within the community to educate, raise awareness, and advocate for change.
The Engagement Team support our goal of a society free from abuse by providing workshops, educational activities, and training across the county to raise awareness of the impacts of sexual violence and combat harmful attitudes and behaviours.
They work closely with local educational facilities, including SEND settings, to teach both young people and professionals about a variety of topics, including:
- Healthy and unhealthy behaviours
- Consent
- Online safety
- Friendships vs romantic relationships
- Public transport safety
- Domestic abuse
- Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB)
- Verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Red flag vs green flag behaviours in society
Alongside this, they also regularly collaborate with other agencies and organisations to increase public safety and understanding.
This includes their #JustDont campaign at Bournemouth Beach in partnership with BCP Council, and the launch of the ‘Do It Right’ campaign developed alongside Safer BCP; Dorset Police; and the BCP Safeguarding Children’s Partnership to help professionals recognise and respond to Harmful Sexual Behaviour.
If you’d like to know more or are interested in booking a workshop or training for your workplace or education setting, please email engagement@starsdorset.org and one of the team will be in touch.
