Legacy and In Memory

Including a gift to STARS in your will means leaving behind a better future for survivors.

Whilst we strive towards our vision of a society free from abuse, our work supporting survivors is far from over; there are sadly still hundreds of thousands of people experiencing sexual violence and abuse in the UK each year, including 725 serious sexual offences and 3,965 domestic abuse incidents reported across Dorset in 2023/24.

A Gift in Will can help us to continue supporting and advocating for survivors for as long as we’re needed.

There are three ways you can donate in your will:

  • Share of your estate (residuary gift) – You can choose any portion that is left over from your estate after your loved ones have been provided for.
  • Cash gift (pecuniary gift) – This can be a set amount of your choosing.
  • Specific item – This can be anything; furniture, jewellery, shares, or property.

Unless otherwise specified, all gifts will go into our unrestricted funding pot, which means we can spend your legacy where it is needed most.

This online tribute page is a space to share and record messages and memories, with the option to collect donations for a chosen cause.

We would be honoured to be a part of your loved one’s memorial. 

If you would like to set up a memorial to collect donations for STARS Dorset, simply follow the steps below:

  2. Tick the box which says ‘I would like to allow visitors to make donations to charity in honour of [name]’.
