As a charity, donations are vital to help us continue our mission: supporting survivors of abuse on their journey of recovery and challenging societal attitudes that condone or collude with abuse through awareness, education, and training.

Donations

At STARS Dorset we support anyone living in Dorset of any age or gender who has been affected by sexual violence in any form at any time in their life. All our support services are provided free of charge, from our one-to-one Counselling service and our Children and Young People (CYP) service to our Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) service. One of the ways this is possible is through kind donations from our supporters.

Every donation however small can help make a huge difference. For example:

£2 purchases a sensory toy to assist a service user with grounding techniques.
£5 covers the provision of a panic alarm for one of our service users to help make them feel safer.
£10 will provide art and craft resources for a child in their support sessions.
£25 covers the purchase of wellbeing journals for two of our child, young people, and adult clients.
£50 fills two Self-Soothe Bags with tools to help a young person develop healthy coping strategies.
£75 covers the cost of a specialist one-to-one counselling session.
£100 covers the provision of five specialist counselling rooms for a day.
