STARS Dorset Counselling Team Wins Volunteer Group of the Year

Congratulations to our amazing Volunteer Counselling Team who were Awarded Volunteer Group of the Year 2019 by the Volunteer Centre Dorset. Thank you so much for all you do, you guys are amazing!

Stars Dorset benefits from the support of over thirty incredible volunteer counsellors offering therapeutic support to our clients. We offer one to one trauma informed counselling, this service is free to anyone of anyone age who lives, works or studies in Dorset and has experienced any form of sexual violence at anytime in their life.

We have just recruited ten new volunteer counsellors but we will be looking for further volunteer counsellors in the new year and we have opportunities for both trainee and qualified counsellors. All our volunteer counsellors must have completed or be completing at least a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling or equivalent and we ask that you are able to commit to a minimum caseload of two clients (raising to three when you feel ready) and that you volunteer with STARS for at least 24 months. We provide in-house fortnightly supervision and Continued Personal Development (CPD) opportunities. Full training and support is provided.
